A professional and competent individual with over 45 years experience in all aspects of real estate appraisal. Thomas has experience working with provincial and federal government officials and has done expropriations and consultation for projects such as the North Pickering Community Development project, the proposed Pickering Airport, and the Pickering Water Pollution Control Plant. Thomas is a past executive member of the Oshawa Durham Chapter of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and continues to mentor AIC candidate members looking to finish their certifications. Thomas is well versed in all of the latest appraisal software and keeps a close eye on market trends and changing real estate laws in order to provide clients with the most up to date statistics and information. Thomas has a knack for putting clients mind at ease and making the appraisal process as comfortable an experience as possible and is responsible for nearly all of our physical appraisal inspections.
Mark started in the profession 35 years ago with his Father and brother, and then opened his own Appraisal Service in 1992 to cover the GTA. More recently it was decided that we could all provide better service and coverage for our clients by pooling our talents to create a truly unique and effective appraisal company. Mark brings years of experience dealing with Toronto Real Estate both in the downtown core and outlying neighbourhoods. Mark is well versed as an expert witness, and every other type of residential appraisal service, and is enjoying his new appraisal grounds in the Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph and Milton Area. As a registered Real Estate Agent, he also has the added benefit of witnessing firsthand the trials and tribulations of buying and selling real estate and has a deep understanding of how the participants are viewing and feeling about the marketplace.
Leigh has been working closely with his father Thomas for the past 35 years and is presently the owner and operator of Gifford Appraisals. His role is to manage the day-to-day functions of the company, and he is well versed in the various technological operations of the business. Leigh is typically available for immediate responses to telephone and email inquiries in order to satisfy client needs as quickly as possible. Leigh’s expertise is primarily focused on the residential sector of appraisals and he also holds the certification of a Residential Home Inspector. Leigh has in-depth knowledge of the neighbourhoods within the area of operation that only comes with years of in-field experience. He has also lent his skills and knowledge in the area of mentorship for AIC candidate members.
Aaron is the newest member, and third generation of the Gifford Appraisals staff. Aaron has been working alongside his family members for the past 2 years and is gaining the skills and abilities necessary to continue the high standards of the business and complete his CRA designation. Aaron is a graduate of Queen’s University and holds a masters degree in International Relations & Economics from Cardiff University. He is well versed in the use of appraisal software technologies and is also one of the first points of contact for appraisal requests or any inquiries regarding our services. Aaron is adamant in providing our clients, both new and long term with the best possible customer service and is constantly striving to make Gifford Appraisals the number one choice for any new potential clients and their appraisal needs.
